Work Based Degree Program
The Work Based Degree was set up for the ever increasing demands and professionalism our profession requires. The degree course can run on a national level once the demands are there. The program is approved by HETAC (Higher Education and Training Award Council) it consists of block release, evening classes and web-based classes.

Teagasc Kinsealy Research Station
This colleges provides N.C.V.A. level 3.
Format
The students attend the college on a block release basis two weeks three times per year over two years.

| |
Kinsealy also teach this course which provides skills for Golf Course Superintendents and Head Greenkeepers who manage, or are in senior positions in golf courses.
Course Structure
Five three day sessions in the college with a large element of home study and project work
Duration: Two years
Entry Requirement
Applicants should hold the N.C.V.A. Certificate in Greenkeeping or be senior students who have been in senior greenkeeping management positions on golf courses for a number of years.

This colleges serves the students in the southern part of Ireland. The same syllabus is taught as in Kinsealy and the format is that students attend college two and a half days per week - September to April over a one year period.

This college runs N.V.Q. Level Two in Sports Turf Management over two years and N.V.Q. Level Three. The college also carries out H.N.D. modules and an Advanced National Certificate in Turf which is aimed at Golf Course Superintendents.

| B.S.C. Hort Turf Grass Management |
| |
This course is run by Teagasc and Blanchardstown I.T. and the awarding body is H.E.T.A.C.. This programme is aimed at Superintendents in management posts and covers both managerial and scientific topics.
Duration:
This Level Seven Degree course will be available to full time students In September 2004 and on block realease to those within the industry from September 2005.

Barry Drennan provides training in both Level One and Level Two Golf Course Machinery Maintenance. The school are also running courses on operator training for golf course machinery and grinder training.
